Election 2006, The ballots are out…

November the 13th is Election Day, but the ballots have already hit the mailboxes.
If you are properly registered, you have, or will receive a (voters kit) ballot in the mailbox before Nov. 4. If you do not receive your voters kit with a ballot by the 4th, you need to go to Town Hall to register and vote. You are able to do this up until 8:00 pm on Nov. 13.

If you are 18 years or older, a resident of Fort Frances for more than one day, or own property, you are eligible to vote. You are entitled to vote for Mayor, Councillors and Board of Education trustees who will represent our community for the next four years.

On the ballot, you are eligible to vote for one Mayor, one Board of Education representative and up to six councillors. You are not required to vote for six councillors, your ballot will be valid if you vote for one to six councillors, but not more. If you do not know six councillor’s who can best represent you, then vote for the one, two or three, etc. that you wish to represent you. If you have any questions regarding your voters kit, please contact the Town Clerk at 274-5323, visit the Town website, or go to Town Hall for assistance.

If I, as Mayor of Fort Frances could encourage you to do anything, it would be vote. Make sure you exercise your right and vote for the Mayor and councillors who will guide our community into the future.
