MayorDan.ca Launches
Issued this press release today.
MayorDan.ca launches today, sporting a new look, and additional features.
The website intended to keep people informed on the ongoing issues the community is faced with, provide Mayor Dan’s views on them, and let the people have their say, now allows users to subscribe to updates via email, upload their pictures of the Mayor to the gallery, and browse through the issues more effectively.
“I’d like to thank the thousands of people that have visited the site, and continue to visit as I update the issues. The response was overwhelmingly positive when the site was in the testing and planing stages last April, and as we moved forward I heard from many expressing their support in opening this new line of communication.People are genuinely excited to hear from their Mayor, to know what’s going on in the community, and be able to let their thoughts be known on the issues, to know they are heard.” - Mayor Dan Onichuk
“The Mayor asked me to create a site that allowed him to speak to the public directly, and allow the public to speak back. We built a site that does just that, allowing people to contribute their photos, ideas and thoughts, see what his schedule is like, and in general learn more about the community and the man leading us.” - John Leschinski (Leschinski Design)
People can check out the site at www.mayordan.ca
So there are a few new features that we mentioned in the press release.
First being the subscription via email. If you are a registered user you can manage your subscription via your profile center. From there you can select which types of updates you want to receive by topic. If you are not a registered user you can still subscribe to updates by email at the RSS page, or by registering for a free account here.
You can now upload your photos of me to the gallery now as well, but again you must be a registered user to do so.
Browsing through the issues and posts is mead easier now with the addition of our Tag Archive, Issues list, and Live Archive pages.
Commenting on posts remains much the same, but the site now supports Gravatars, quoting, and the ability to revise your comment within a certain time limit. I encourage everyone to comment on the issues I talk about, I want to hear your thoughts and ideas.
Everything should be working fine if you are using a modern browser like Internet Explorer 7 or FireFox. If there are any problems feel free to contact the site maintenance team, or check the FAQ page.
And thanks again for continuing to visit my website.
